What is inspiration, and where does it come from?
According to the dictionary, it is:
- the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.
- the drawing in of breath; inhalation.
So according to this definition, we all have inspiration every day. We draw breath in. We are inspired.
Metal Art Inspiration
Customers inspire us with their vision. Sometimes, they envision the end result. We provide the canvas to make it happen. A good example of this – the Michigan Spartan Wall Art. Kelly sent us a sketch of her future husband’s tattoo art.
What we started with:
Mike gave Kelly ideas on patina colors and how he would create it. Here’s the final piece.
Another inspiration came from Steve. Uncle Ricky played an important part in his childhood. Ricky recently retired and would be spending time in his wood shop. Initially, Steve sent the ax and saw image to include in the sign. So, Mike came up with the backdrop for the perfect sign. Rough wood edges and patinas created the final look. Steve and Ricky loved it!
Just a couple of examples of collaboration with our clients. We really enjoy steeling our customers ideas. Creative collaboration makes our job more fun in the long run. Stamping out the same design over and over again just isn’t for us. Variety is the spice of life as far as we’re concerned.
Open your eyes to the possibilities
Finally, you never know where the next great idea will come from. Walking outside and breathing in fresh air inspires us (literally). And each time we hear “have you thought about doing this”, we think of a new product or possibility. Just be open to the people and world around you. You never know what will pop into your brain!
