It’s hard to believe that it’s been 4 short years since we moved to Central Oregon from the Willamette Valley. This last weekend was Memorial Day weekend, and in 2012 we hauled the majority of our household to our current home over the holiday weekend. So, you might not think that is fun. But when you’re starting a new adventure, it is!
When we were still in the valley, Mike spent some time using the hand plasma cutter and enjoyed it. Once we found our new home (which had a good sized shop), Mike seriously started thinking about getting a CNC plasma table. As an aside, Mike sold a North River jet boat shortly before we moved. That sale provided the capital for a plasma table purchase.
We couldn’t believe our good fortune discovering (on Craigslist no less) that there was a plasma table manufacturer in Bend! We ordered a table from ArcLight Dynamics and took delivery that fall. Scott and his crew helped us problem solve issues, and within a few months we sold our first piece of art – Our diamond trout! What started out as a hobby might actually have the potential to become a business! Only time would tell.

Some 500+ unique creations later, we’re still enjoying what we started in late 2012. Over the years, we’ve have decided what we enjoy the most is custom work. We really like to work with people to create something from their mind’s eye. We love to hear – “that’s exactly what I envisioned”. We’ve evolved over the 3+ years we’ve had the business and learned from our mistakes. And, we’re still having lots of fun with it. It’s true – How time flies when you’re having fun!
