Wow! We packed a lot into this weekend as we perfected how to mix Work with Fun.
Fun – Cycle Pub Style
Mike’s daughter, Courtney, turned 21 in April and wanted to do the Cycle Pub for her birthday present. So we needed to mix in work with family visiting AND do the cycle pub. Check out Cycle Pub at www.cyclepub.com and find out why we had to mix work with pleasure. Fourteen (well, really 12) people have to cycle the pub trolley through the streets of Bend while visiting local breweries and sampling their wares. We never realized how many hills Bend has! If you ever do Cycle Pub, just remember that the people in the front do the lion’s share of the work. Note – Mike and I had the last seats on each side…
And Then There’s Work
Now for the work part of the weekend. You can see the picture of Mike above using the grinder to clean up a sign we are making for a local family. We received a call from Alisha to make a sign for Father’s Day. She gave us the idea of what she would like to see in the form of a picture of another sign. She told us what she would like her sign to include. We sent her a prototype image through email, and she made some additional suggestions. One more turnaround, and she was happy with the prototype. Size, possible finishes, and a desired delivery date were determined, and we were on our way to fulfilling her order.
As with the Cycle Pub, we again mixed work with pleasure. We enjoy combining the creative process with the mechanical part of producing the actual sign We can’t wait to finish the sign and deliver it to Alisha. We hope it brings her family as much enjoyment as we have while creating each unique piece.
