So what – you might ask – does milking have to do with metal signs?  We found out this afternoon during a meeting with a potential client.

Windy Acres Dairy Farm produces raw milk products from both cows and sheep.  In fact, as we drove up they were in the process of finishing morning milking of their Ancient Heritage sheep.  We knew they milked goats but had no idea that sheep were used for milk products.  As we talked with the farm owner, we learned more about raw milk lovers and herdshares from the farm.

Apparently one too many windstorms had blown down the farm sign, and they were in need of a new sign (possibly metal signs).  A member had seen our Piggyback Ranch sign and told the owner about it.  They looked at the website and arranged for us to come out to the farm and talk to the person who will donate the sign.

It was a wonderful visit on a beautiful day.  We had a great lunch with a delicious glass of milk.  And we were sent home with a pound of butter.  Wow – what a most excellent day!

So Mike has a new project to design for the dairy farm.  And we’ve made some new friends who have a delicious product.  They make yogurt, butter, creme fraiche, cheese, and the list goes on.  The sheep lady tells me that the cheese is even creamier than goat cheese.

Very educational day mixed in with inspiration from an amazing 95 year old woman.  Just one more reason why we appreciate and LOVE what we do.
