We have retired in Arizona and appreciate your support over the years. Stay tuned for our new creative adventures! – Mike & Pat

Shortly after we moved to Sunriver in 2012, the Sunriver Brewhouse opened its’ doors.  It immediately became a favorite for locals and tourists, with awesome craft beer under the Sunriver Brewing Company name.   Their menu and food is so good, we rarely travel to Bend to eat out.  We like the beer so much that we usually have their amber on tap at our house (right now it’s Lazy River Lager for the summer).

Doing Business Locally – in Sunriver

The Brewery building was completed in late 2013 and Sunriver brewed beer hit the tap in early 2014.  Co-owner, Brian, decided to decorate using an industrial look.  They asked us to create metal light valances for the bathrooms that matched the textured steel doors.  Mike ended up adding a new sander to his repertoire to replicate the look, which you can see above in the feature photo.

Shortly after the light valances were installed, Sunriver Brewing had another project for us – create a metal beer tasting tray for use in the Brewhouse.  They wanted something round AND it needed to look industrial, possibly matching the textured steel look.

Mike developed the prototype, which incorporates copper legs and handle into a circular metal tray for six beer samples.  He also enlisted the help of his brother, Gary, help to finish up the trays in time for spring break and the release of their sixth beer.  Friend, Mike Swearingen (a welder by trade), also made a trip over the mountains to give Mike some tips on welding key components.

Now that the Brewery was brewing LOTS of really AWESOME beer, they needed to have some very unique tap handles created for the Brewhouse.

Naming beers has become quite the sport in Central Oregon.  It seems that every brewery takes great pride in coming up with names that you will associate just with them.

Sunriver Brewery has taken local landmarks and sports to a new level with names like Base Layer Black Ale, Shred Head Winter Ale, Vicious Mosquito IPA, Chalkrock Amber, Lazy River Lager and Grandma’s Pale Ale.

Tap Handles

Sunriver Brewing Company’s beer logos are colorful  and needed a nice black background to set them off.  Mike created the metal base so That Marketing Guy Ryan and Brian could showcase the beers behind the counter.

Who knows what the future collaboration between Sunriver Brewing Company and Sunriver Metal Works will bring?  Possibly Brewing Tank name plates?

We have certainly enjoyed getting to know the Sunriver Brewing Company “family” and look forward to many more years of wining (or beering) and dining!  We love doing business locally!
