Christmas Snow!

Last year’s Christmas snow fall in the Sunriver area was dismal, at best.  It was a record drought year, and skiers in the area didn’t have much snow to work with at Mt. Bachelor.  We created this snow gauge for a new customer as a 2014 Christmas present for her husband.  They never used it.  Not the case so far in 2015!

Christmas Orders

Christmas orders started coming in as early as October.  We LOVE these type of customers who plan ahead.  It gives us plenty of time to finish the projects, and weather is generally not an issue.  This year we were receiving Christmas orders as late as December 17th.  It’s hard for us to turn people away.  We like the challenge of exceeding our customer’s expectations.

This was the year of the message.  We’ve created everything from the one word “Family” to …  Well – we can’t give it away yet.  All Christmas presents still to be given.  The Family Wall Art was created for a Connecticut couple who wanted it on their wall when the family got together for Christmas.  Family is everything to them, and they wanted that sentiment displayed prominently in their gathering place.

This Family metal art message is at the center of all activities.

It’s Almost Too Late

For those customers who waited (until almost too late), it was a challenge to get the packages out the door.  We had an extremely heavy snowfall that caused a two day power outage.  That was followed a few days later by more heavy snow.  Our internet suddenly developed issues.  And the list goes on.  Against all odds, we succeeded in dropping off the last package at the Post Office this week to be delivered back east by Christmas.

Breathing a collective sign of relief, we had our internet service upgraded today.  We now have an antenna located at the top of a ponderosa pine.  It’s all about line of sight to a tower so the frequencies can do their thing.  We don’t care – because it’s working now.

We believe that this Christmas we have exceeded all of our customers’ expectations.  More orders than last year and from across the states, we’ve had lots of “firsts” and lots of words.  Look for the pictures in our after holidays updates on our website.  They will surely generate more ideas from soon to be customers of Sunriver Metal Works!
